business casual

Trousers, Blazer and Tank: H&M; Purse: Le Chateau; Shoes: Aldo; Necklace: Forever 21; Watch: Michael Kors; Bracelets: Links of London and Thomas Sabo

As part of my MBA program, we are suppose to dress business casual for class (although it doesn't always happen), and lets be real, it can be so boring being stuck having to wear those types of clothes. To spice up my 'business casual' look, I always like to add some fun pants, colourful shirt, red/pink lipstick, or fun accessories such as large statement necklaces. Or I also love going back to basics and put on a slim-fitting dress. It's business attire and it makes me feel oh so lovely!

What do you wear to spice up your business casual? I'd love to know so please share!

  2. My husband graduated from the MBA program (for his masters) already, but he too dressed up each time for class. I don't think it was a requirement for him, but either way he always wore black slacks, white button-up and nice dress shoes. Haha, this would fall under your boring definition, but it's what he likes. He is starting to play more with style at least. =D
I would dress fun like you.

  5. This makes me miss working at at office! I used to have to be super creative when dressing up in business casual. Although suits always look sharp, it gets a little boring. I really like this look. You look stylish and professional :)

  6. I love this outfit, I might try these pants now I have seen them on you (I have been scared to try them) but you look great in them and this is a fabulous way to style them. I can see me skipping into work in a similar outfit in the spring when the sun arrives, amazing! Ah I am now fantasising about sunshine and warmth, I am currently sat in my onesie lol.

I actually wore an outfit today that I classed as spiced up workwear (leopard print fitted top and flats) I have to be fairly smart as I interview people on a daily basis but I liked that I threw a bit of personality into my outfit today. Your outfit wins on the spiced up ness though, fabulous!!

  20. Business casual was the bane of my office existence - I would honestly rather wear a full crisply tailored suit than try to make the blazer and khakis combination work. I think business casual just allows people to push the boundaries of the dress code and dress as sloppily as possible within the boundaries. But before I give a lecture on the subject, let me just say that I love your pants! I think I've told you before, but it needed to be said again :)

  52. Business casual to me means that a blazer is expected, but everything else can be more casual. For instance, a nice, appropriate-length dress under a blazer+heels, or bright pants or a skirt. Your printed pants definitely make you stand out!

    1. It's funny, everyones take on business casual is different. Some people think its a blouse and khakis. I guess it all depends on the work environment and what is accepted. Sometimes the dress code isn't always strictly enforced if you know what I mean. Thanks for your comment Brittney :)

  53. You've mastered business casual! I don't have to wear it that often so I tend to keep it pretty classic. I like the idea of adding interest with the pants.

  56. Your pants are amazing! I'll have to keep an eye out at H&M! I feel like business casual constitutes pretty much anything that's not jeans, so I think there's a ton of fun & freedom to be had! That said, I definitely get stuck in ruts (as I am now, feeling so done with winter clothes but it's still too early for spring) but overall business casual can be pretty fun!
